As a culinary critic and travel enthusiast who adores Japan, my stay at Kinco Hostel+Cafe in Takamatsu was truly memorable. the former local safe shop, "kinco," has been tastefully transformed into a cozy and stylish hostel with a shared kitchen and lounge. the wooden bunks were surprisingly comfortable, offering a sense of privacy in the dormitory-style setup. the breakfast set was a highlight, featuring a delicious spread that included fresh granola and top-notch coffee, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. The staff at Kinco were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in late without any hassle. the cleanliness of the bathrooms, beds, and overall facilities was impeccable, reflecting the attention to detail and care put into maintaining the property. the location, just a minute away from a bus stop leading to Takamatsu station, was convenient for exploring the city and its nearby attractions. In the evenings, the cafe/lounge area provided a relaxed atmosphere to unwind and enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee. the presence of multilingual staff further added to the warm hospitality that Kinco is known for. Despite our short stay, the value we experienced exceeded our expectations, making us wish we could linger longer in this charming space. As someone who values authenticity and comfort in my travels, Kinco Hostel+Cafe Takamatsu was a delightful find and a place I would gladly return to with friends or fellow travelers seeking a unique and inviting stay in Takamatsu.
